ANDE Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Mapping
The South Africa chapter of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs has just released a pretty comprehensive infographic on South Africa’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. This is probably the first of its kind, and gives a fantastic view of what the general landscape looks like.
Not only does it list government, corporate, and non-profit funding and support organisations, but gives a tremendous amount of insight into how they operate and interlock. Here’s a snippet:

Thursday, March 26: 12 UNREASONABLE ENTREPRENEURS FOUND IN EAST AFRICA
Unreasonable East Africa’s 2015 fellows are 12 early-stage ventures from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan creating solutions to the region’s biggest social and environmental problems
Kampala, Uganda – Last December, 180 companies from across the region applied with the hopes of capturing one of only 12 spots in the Unreasonable East Africa class of 2015. After three months of intensive review, Unreasonable East Africa has selected 12 of these ventures to attend its 2015 Institute this July. To qualify as an Unreasonable entrepreneur, each entrepreneur had to show that they were leveraging the power of business to solve massive social and environmental problems such as poverty, inequality, global warming, lack of access to health care and education and many others. These entrepreneurs have demonstrated that they have financially sustainable ventures that are innovating new technologies, transforming systems and pioneering new ways of thinking with a deep understanding of their target markets and the ability to scale to meet the needs of at least 1 million people.
